Not sure if it has the same ring to it, but the US version of the Nissan Skyline will definitively be sold as an Infiniti. This actually makes good sense to me, since this way they won't run into the problem that VW had with the Phaeton--selling a 60K car at dealerships that can't provide the expected level of service:
LOS ANGELES -- The next-generation Skyline GT-R, a high-performance sports car, will be sold as an Infiniti in the United States, say two sources familiar with Nissan Motor Co.'s plans.
The GT-R was sold under the Nissan brand in Japan. Company executives have been debating whether to sell it in America as a Nissan or an Infiniti.
I like it better that way. For that kind of money, I'd rather drive an Infiniti

The US version of the Nissan Skyline has already been here for 3 years! It is called the Infiniti G35. Why is this so hard for people to remember or understand? The current USDM Infiniti G35 is the current JDM Nissan Skyline. The Skyline and GT-R name are now separate. There will not be a new Skyline GT-R. Those two names will not exist together. Also, there will be no such thing as an "Infiniti Skyline". The new car will just be called Infiniti GT-R (USDM/Worldwide) and Nissan GT-R (JDM). Class dismissed...
